Dec 24
I want to wish you all a very Merry Christmas this year. I know that the year has been tough on many and I truly hope you will have an opportunity to relax and enjoy family and friends. This is a very special holiday for my family, as we are celebrating the birth of our Saviour. For that reason I will be signing off until December 26th.
Blogging has provided me an opportunity to hear from many folks out there who have struggled this year. It seems like the news is nothing but an unending stream of stories of hardship for people all around the country. I work for a Humanitarian Relief organization and I can tell you it has been a very difficult year all around the world in 2011. There were multiple devastating earthquakes, that took so many lives and homes. Paralyzing floods and other storms, on top of dire famines and don’t forget the many wars – all causing so much devastation.
I do not bring all of this up to depress you, but to encourage you. You are not alone, and by looking out for each other we can help carry each others burdens. No matter our difficulties, there is often someone worse off then we might be. I have learned to Thank God for my blessings, and to look for the need in others around I might be able to meet. Use what resources you do have for the betterment of others. If you are short on cash, but have a little time – maybe you could visit that elderly neighbor you have that is not able to get out as often.
I also want to encourage hope in anyone out there who is feeling down this Christmas season. Like many of you my family has also faced many of the same hardships. We lost a business, faced unemployment and our house went into foreclosure. I went from owning two houses to the prospect of not owning anything. For me – I have learned to press into prayer. That God has never left me alone, even when it felt like I was alone, I was not. Miracles have happened in our circumstances, greater then I could have hoped for. We learned recently that we were granted a modification and will be able to keep our home. I can not explain how this happened, other then it was a miracle from God. I do not want to lay every gorey detail of my experiences out here – but I can assure you they are not pretty. Mostly what I want to say is that God is still in the business of performing miracles to those who call out to Him.
If you are in need of a miracle and would like someone to pray for you, please email me privately (centsibleinseattle@gmail.com). I would love to stand with you in prayer through your circumstances.
To the rest of you, I wish you a Blessed and Safe Christmas. I will be back bright and early December 26th with more great deals!

Sia…I had NO idea you were going through this! What a generous spirit you have…to think of giving to others and help them learn to save their money while you were going through a difficult financial hardship yourself.
Much love for you. And may it truly be a blessed Christmas, full of God's best.

You know, I was feeling rather snarky & apprehensive the last few weeks. Then I focused on the miracle of God sending his son…not as a mighty warrior or a scholar, but rather as an infant….for ME & my family reminded me of how blessed we are.
Thanks for sharing, Sia. Merry Christmas to you & yours.

Wow Sia what an amazing story. My son just a couple years ago asked me Mom how come we don't see miracles any more like they have in the Bible. I told him because you are not looking close enough. This is another one of those that may not make it in the papers but is a reminder that miracles happen everyday thanks to our Lord!
Thanks for sharing Sia and hope you and your family have a blessed holiday! I have really enjoyed getting to know you through blogging!
