In addition to First Thursday entrance, many museums now offer free entrance days on the first Friday of the month too. Here are a few more museums that you can visit for free today if you are looking for something to do. (note – be sure to call ahead to confirm that nothing has changed in their hours or pricing policy)
Free Entrance To Hands On Childrens Museum –
This museum is in Olympia and offers free entrance from 5:00pm to 9:00pm for the evening on the first Friday of each month.
Free Childrens Museum Of Tacoma Entrance (Note – closed for remodel until 1/14)–
This is a small (but quaint) children’s museum in the heart of downtown Tacoma. The offer free entrance from 10:00am to 7:00pm on the first Friday of the month. You can read more about my families trip to the Childrens Museum yesterday if you are interested in a first hand account.
Free Admission To KidsQuest Children’s Musuem –
This museum is located in Factoria and offers free entrance from 5:00pm to 8:00pm the First Friday evening of the month. You will also be able to get free parking here so thats another bonus.
Free Entrance To Bellevue Art Museum –
First Friday of the month Bellevue Art Museum offers free admission from 11 am to 8pm.
Frye Museum Storytelling In The Galleries -
The Frye Museum in Seattle is always free (and offers free parking). On Fridays though they offer a children’s story time with movement and play by Frye educators or librarians from The Seattle Public Library. Visit the galleries after story time. Storytime is best suited for ages 3 to 5 with adult and takes place from 11:15 to 11:45 a.m. on the first Fridays of the month.
