** Red Lion Seattle -  Saturday, December 10th from Noon to 6pm.

This is one of my family favorites. We discovered it last year, and it was great!  This year will be the Red Lion on 5th Avenue in Seattle’s 3rd Annual Santa Claus Photo Event.  I was not able to find this deal advertised on the internet, but I did confirm directly with the Red Lion. Here are the details:

  • Event will take place in their lobby (fireplace and comfortable seating)
  • You will get a free keepsake Christmas photo and a cup of hot cider (last year they had cocoa and snacks too)
  • Last year mom and dad got a glass of local wine for FREE too. The Red Lion said that this was an impromptu thing they did last year and they were not certain if that would be available or not this year.

Although these specials are not as cheap as what I usually post about The Red Lion is offering a shopping package that includes; free parking for one vehicle (about a $40 value), Red Lion’s Signature Roaring Start Breakfast Buffet for every adult listed on the room – Kids 12 and under eat free, a $25 Macy’s Gift Card (one per room, per night), a $25 Pacific Place Gift Card (one per room, per night), shopping discount coupons and Holiday cookies. Currently a single queen is listed at $240.75 and a room with two queen sized beds is $250.75. The listed rates are subject to change based on availability and expect tax to be added as well. I would suggest that you have your readers just call us for availability and rates.   The cheapest rate I have come across recently for the Red Lion is $99.  When you add it all the freebies listed above its a decent deal, although $250 is a pretty big chunk of change. I will keep an eye out for better deals and post if I find them.

Seattle has tons of free holiday activities available. I will be posting next week on this years Gingerbread House, but in the meantime you can read my review of our families trip downtown Seattle last Christmas season.
